Our Impact

Take a look at how we as a company are trying to make a difference. “What we do in the next few years will determine the next few thousand.” — David Attenborough

Carbon offset figures are projected based on the trees natural lifespan*

We’re proud to share our new Carbon Report, a transparent look at our emissions, reductions, and the steps we’re taking to reach Net Zero. Read our 2024-25 Carbon Report here -

Boundaries

When calculating a company’s scopes, such as ours, we have to set some boundaries to define which parts of our operations and activities are included, ensuring our reporting is consistent, transparent, and accurate.

We actively measure and track:

  • Scope 1 – Direct emissions from sources we own or control

  • Scope 2 – Indirect emissions from the energy we purchase

  • Scope 3 – All other indirect emissions across our supply chain

Executive Summary

Understanding our carbon footprint starts with knowing where our emissions come from. By breaking them down into Scopes 1, 2, and 3, we can see the full picture from the fuel we use directly, to the electricity that powers our offices, and even the wider impact of our supply chain.

Below, we’ve translated that into clear numbers to show exactly where we stand today (2024-2025):

Total

1853.72TCO2e

In 2024 - 2025 all of our emissions amounted to 1853.72 tonnes of carbon

All figures capture the second year of reporting emissions for Premier Print & Promotions Limited from 1st April 2024 - 31st March 2025 and have been certified by third party's whilst remaining in line with GHG Protocol.

How are we reducing our impact?

Planting trees

We have already planted more than 1200+ trees right here in the UK. The planting (as part of our new initiative) takes place in Dartford, close to the crossing, an area that experiences some of the highest volumes of traffic across the country. Anyone who is familiar with the M25 knows its far from a perfect setting, which is exactly why we are planting trees where they can make tangible difference.

While a thousand trees wont solve climate change on their own, they do contribute to improved local air quality and improves biodiversity. By choosing native species we are also creating homes for local wildlife. Some of the common species already planted include:

Offsetting has a role to play, and we will use it where appropriate. However, we don't view net carbon zero as something that can be achieved by simply shifting responsibility elsewhere. This initiative acts as one of the first dominos to fall in our goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

As we continue to plant trees in tandem to your orders we will keep you updated with the most recent tally's and pictures from Premier's planting days out.

Value chain carbon engagement

While Scope 3 emissions are harder to control, they account for much of our carbon footprint. We are working to better understand these impacts and to collaborate with suppliers and partners to drive reductions.

One of our biggest drives is to ensure that we are offering the best product for our customers, by sending out questionnaires we are able to gather structured feedback, better understand customer needs, and identify areas for continuous improvement across our products and services.

Some key findings include:

  • 93.9% of consumers* said they would want to be given more sustainable alternatives

  • 20% of consumers* valued reusability more over recyclability

  • 76% of consumers* say that its very important that suppliers of merchandise reduce their own carbon footprint

  • 97% of consumers* said they would sometimes or always pay more for sustainable options

*the study was based on a population size of 33

In response to feedback, we will continue to work with a focus on reusability, durability and lower environmental impact across our merch range. Where possible we will expand the availability of our lower impact alternatives and clearly communicate the correct information to support informed decision making.

Nature Background

What does our impact mean in real life terms?

1 tCO2e is equivalent to 3818 miles driven in an average car, giving us a total of offsetting 7,266,964 miles driven.

We’ve restored 8,856 m² of land — that’s about 35 tennis courts (each ~260 m²)

1 round trip around the earths equator is roughly 4tCO2e, this means we’ve offset the same as one person flying around the world 475 times

1 Big Macs is equivalent to about 4kgCO2e - that means we have offset an equivalent to about 475,000 Big Macs!

A standard football pitch = 7,140m², which means our woodland currently spans across the size of 1.5 football pitches.

1 pint of beer is around 0.24 kgCO2e, that means we have offset an equivalent of 7,900,000 pints of beer

The total amount of land we have restored so far is enough space for 18,000 wildflowers to bloom.

1 cup of coffee has a footprint of around 0.05 kg of COâ‚‚. With 1,903 tonnes offset, that’s the same as brewing over 38 million cups of coffee.

8,856 m² of land restored = 3.5 Olympic-size swimming pools (2,500 m² each)

1,903 tCOâ‚‚e offset = roughly 71,300 long-distance train journeys (London → Edinburgh, 650 km each)
